Integrate SIM 1.5 with SCM 3.0

This section describes how to integrate SIM 1.5 with SCM 3.0. The SIM 1.5 Web

application can be installed on the same system as SCM 3.0 or on a different system. If

they are installed on the same system, they can share Tomcat and Java SDK 1.4.

Add SIM 1. 5 to

SCM 3.0

To add SIM 1.5 to SCM 3.0 when they are installed on the same system:

1. Log in as root or as a trusted user to the SCM central management server.

2. Use mxtool to add SIM to SCM:

/opt/mx/bin/mxtool -a -f /opt/sysinvmgr/sysinvmgr.xml

Verify SCM 3.0 Integration

After adding SIM to SCM, verify that it is available in the SCM user interface.

Verify Integration To verify the integration with SCM:

1. Launch the SCM user interface from your Web browser with this URL:

http://[

cms_hostname

]:50000

The SCM secure login screen appears in your browser.

2. Log in as a trusted user to ensure you have permission to access SIM.

3. Click Log on.

The SCM user interface appears.

4. Select System Inventory from the Tools tab menu.
