The following information has been added to the patch

documentation for PHKL_27156:

Warn: 03/08/05 - This Critical Warning has been issued by HP.

- PHKL_27156 introduced behavior that can cause p2p_bcopy

enabled processes to hang and become unkillable. This

behavior will only occur if 33 or more p2p_enabled pro-

cesses are executing concurrently with the kernel

p2p_bcopy routine. When this occurs, all of these pro-

cesses will hang and become unkillable.

- The MPI (Message Passing Interface) libraries are the

exclusive users of the kernel p2p_bcopy module. Therefore,

only processes that utilize the MPI libraries are at risk

of experiencing this behavior. The MPI libraries are

delivered as part of the HPMPI-hpux11 product. The follow-

ing command can be used to determine if the HPMPI-hpux11

is installed:

swlist -l fileset HPMPI-hpux11

The chatr(1) command can be used to determine if an execut-

able utilizes the MPI libraries:

chatr <filename> | grep libmpi
