Required patch for new VA7110 and VA7410 Disk

Arrays

For a new VA7110 or VA7410 disk array, you must install the

PHCO_27408 (11.11 LVM Commands patch). You can download

it from the ITRC using the following instructions.

Without this patch, a potential risk of data corruption exists

when the new VA disk arrays are used with LVM commands.

This problem can occur because LVM does not know that these

disk arrays are capable of taking a Business Copy (or snapshot).

The patch includes minor changes to enable LVM to recognize the

VA7110 and VA7410 as Business Copy capable devices.

1. To download the patch, PHCO_27408, access the IT

Resource Center on the web:

2. Log in with your IT Resource Center user ID and password.

3. Under Maintenance and Support, select Individual Patches.
