Apache May Hang on Reboot after System Update from
Golden System Image (GSI) Depot
When upgrading from a GSI-installed system containing an OE
with HP Apache 2.0, some systems may hang while attempting
to shutdown the Apache Web Server. The problem is caused by
an obsolete PID from the httpd daemon being copied from the
GSI Golden Image Depot to the client system.
How Do You Know If This Affects You?
You may be affected if you are upgrading from a GSI HP-UX 11.0
Depot containing HP Apache 2.0 to HP-UX 11i.
What To Do
GSI Depot (Server):
Shut down your Apache Web Server before creating the GSI
Depot by typing:
/opt/hpapache2/bin/apachectl stop
Verify that the following file has been deleted:
/opt/hpapache2/logs/httpd.pid
