Determining How Many Cabinets are Present in a
Complex
If you are working with a Superdome complex that is at a remote
location, a complex that you might not be familiar with, you cannot
simply walk over to it and observe how many cabinets it has. However,
you can usethe HP-UX commandparstatus or the Partition Manager to
determine this information.
HP-UX Commands
Step 1. The -B option to the parstatus command will display a list of cabinets
and their current status:
/usr/sbin/parstatus -B
Partition Manager
Step 1. Run the Partition Manager (parmgr).
You can perform this task using HP-UX commands or
Partition Manager.

Notes: N+ = There are one or more spare items (fans/power supplies).
N = The number of items meets but does not exceed the need.
N- = There are insufficient items to meet the need.
? = The adequacy of the cooling system/power supplies is unknown.
