Hardware

Enablement (HWE)

Hardware Enablement provides updates to the content in the HWEnable11i patch bundle, the

HP-UX Support Tools (Online Diagnostics), and other HP-UX software to support hardware on HP

systems with an HP-UX 11i Operating Environment (OE). The HWEnable11i bundle and the

HP-UX Support Tools provide support for new and future systems, I/O adapters, and mass-storage

products. This HP-UX software is labeled as required, ignited on new systems in HP manufacturing,

and automatically loaded as part of any HP-UX 11i OE update. It is included on the HP-UX 11i

OE media and on the Support Plus CD.

Online Diagnostics Diagnostics provides HP-UX Support Tools, including STM, ODE, & EMS Hardware Monitors.

The OnlineDiag bundle is delivered through Hardware Enablement on the OE media and on

the Support Plus CD.

Quality Pack (QPK)

patch bundles

The GOLDQPK11i depot contains both the Base Quality Pack (GOLDBASE11i) and Applications

Quality Pack (GOLDAPPS11i) bundles. They are updated on the Support Plus media or on the

IT Resource Center (ITRC). The Applications Quality Pack (GOLDAPPS11i) patch bundle includes

all stable, defect-fix patches for HP-UX OE applications. The Base Quality Pack (GOLDBASE11i)

patch bundle includes all stable, defect-fix patches for the Core OS, graphics, and key networking

drivers.
