1 HP-UX Compressed Dump Release

The information in this document applies to the release of HP Compressed Dump software

product HP-UX CDUMP11i A.01.01.

Announcement

The HP-UX Compressed Dump, version A.01.01 software speeds up the memory dump for

HP-UX in the event of a system crash. With this product, the dumps are taken faster and thus

the system availability is improved. This speedup is achieved by compressing small chunks of

memory and writing only the compressed data to disk. The compression and disk write are

done in parallel. This feature is primarily targeted for “large memory machines” running

HP-UX 11i version 1 or later releases.
