Identifying Model, OS/OE, and Software
Before you install HP-UX 11i v1.6, check the model and other
information on the system. You can use this information in the System
and Cold-Install Requirements on page 42
Identify model To determine the model number of your system, enter:
model
To verify that HP-UX 11i v1.6 is supported on your system see System
Configurations on page 39.
From EFI you can identify the model by interrupting the autoboot
process in the boot manager, entering the EFI shell, and using the
info sys command:
Shell> info sys
The sample output should appear as follows:
SYSTEM INFORMATION
Product Name: server rx2600
Serial Number: sg20220034
UUID: FFFFFFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFFFFFFFFFF
Identify OS and OE To identify the OS version that your system is currently running, enter:
uname -r
After cold-installing to HP-UX 11i v1.6, youll notice that uname
identifies the 11i release as B.11.22.
When a system has HP-UX 11i v1.6 installed, you can determine which
revision is installed by entering the following command:
/usr/sbin/swlist -l bundle
The HPUXBaseAux bundle indicate the current installed revision level.
The revision level is indicated both in the bundle version number and the
description text.
To identify the Operating Environment currently installed on your
system, use swlist. For example:
/usr/sbin/swlist
