• The Logical Volume Manager (LVM) is the HP-UX proprietary
volume manager and is now the default volume manager for HP-UX.

• Selectable software contains the additional products that you can
select. These products include:
— HP-UX Install Utilities
— Intrusion Detection System IDS/9000 (C.02.01) - only available
on Commercial Server media
Operating Environments for HP Commercial Servers
The OE for commercial servers contains all base functionality that is
common to other OEs, including the base 64-bit HP-UX Operating
System, network drivers, and other always-installed functionality. In
addition, this OE includes:
• Common Internet File System (CIFS)/9000 Server (as delivered in
HP-UX 11i)
• CIFS/9000 Client A.01.08 (as delivered in HP-UX 11i)
• Netscape Communicator 4.79
• Pluggable Authentication Modules (PAM) Kerberos
Operating Environments for HP Workstations and
Technical Servers
The following HP-UX 11i v1.6 Operating Environments are available for
Itanium-based workstations and technical servers:
• HP-UX 11i v1.6 Minimal Technical OE (MTOE)
Available for workstations only. Contains all the base functionality
that is common to other OEs, including the base 64-bit HP-UX
Operating System, network drivers, and other always-installed
