Do Not Use CacheFS on this Release
The NFS distributed file system is a component of ONC+ from SunSoft.
NFS provides secure and transparent access to information on
worldwide-heterogeneous networks.
WARNING Although CacheFS functionality is available, do not use CacheFS
on this release of HP-UX.
NFS on this release is identical to NFS on HP-UX 11i (B.11.11) except for
the following two differences:
• NFS on this release supports Itanium platforms. Learn more about
Itanium platforms at:
http://www.hp.com/products1/itanium/index.html
• NFS on this release contains a fix not included in the HP-UX 11i
(B.11.11) release. Details of the fix are as follows:
NFS on this release fixed the following problem:
Symptom: After running nfs.client stop, the NFS server does not export
interactive filesystems in MC/ServiceGuard.
Cause: The NFS server does not export interactive filesystems if stopped.
Running nfs.client stop issued nfs.server start and
nfs.server stop calls.
Solution: HP removed the nfs.server start and nfs.server stop calls from
nfs.client stop. Running nfs.client stop on this release does
not stop the NFS server.
The user manual for NFS on this release is: Installing and
Administering NFS Services (MPN# B1031-90048). NFS man pages for
this release are identical to HP-UX 11i (B.11.11) man pages.
