Welcome to HP-UX
HP-UX 11i Version 1.5 is the first release for all IPF (Itanium processor
family) based HP-UX systems.
This release is B.11.20, or HP-UX 11i Version 1.5 (B.11.20). This
Operating Environment (OE) is an integrated and tested software
solution containing the operating system and selected applications.
PA-RISC based systems should continue to run HP-UX 11i (release ID
B.11.11) or earlier releases.
NOTE This release will not run on PA-RISC based systems; however, any
PA-RISC binaries you have most likely will run on IPF systems. See
http://devresource.hp.com for more information.
This release is not intended for Mission Critical environments, and HA
products such as ServiceGuard are not supported on this release.
This release includes the following major features and enhancements:
• Base VERITAS Volume Manager 3.1 for HP-UX (VxVM), is
integrated in HP-UX and is now the default volume manager androot
disk
• Support for running most PA-RISC applications on IPF systems
without recompiling
• Enhancements to some commands
Functionality provided in this release will be included in future releases
of HP-UX.
