Post Installation Task: Configuring Large 32-way and
64-way Systems
After a cold-install, the newly-installed kernel may need to be
re-configured before booting. To ensure that you have a reliable starting
point, rebuild the kernel by following the steps described below:
1. Login as root and edit /stand/system to include the two lines
shown below:
nproc 512
nkthread 640
2. Run the following commands to make the new kernel:
mk_kernel -v -o /stand/vmunix
3. Fix any problems listed in the mk_kernel output.
4. Update and reboot your system to ensure that your new kernel
successfully boots:
kmupdate
reboot -r
