Hardware Enablement
Hardware Enablement (HWE) for HP-UX 11i v1 provides regular updates of the
HWEnable11i Patch Bundle, the HP-UX OnlineDiag bundle, and other HP-UX software
to support the hardware used with HP-UX systems. These HWE components can be
installed on existing HP-UX systems by selecting the HWEnable11i bundle, applicable
I/O driver bundles, the OnlineDiag bundle, and Ignite-UX (for boot support). These
components can provide minimal support of new hardware products, including processor
upgrades and new I/O adapters.
Each HP-UX 11i Operating Environment (OE) update includes HWEnable11i,
OnlineDiag (with EMS Hardware Monitors and Support Tools Manager), Ignite-UX and
I/O driver bundles that provide support for new and future systems, I/O adapters, and
mass-storage products. The HP-UX 11i OE software is ignited on new systems in HP
manufacturing, and automatically loaded as part of any HP-UX 11i OE update. It is
included on the HP-UX 11i OE media and on the HP-UX 11i Support Plus media.
In addition to delivery on the HP-UX 11i v1 OE media, the HWEnable11i bundle is also
available on the IT Resource Center (ITRC) Web site at http://itrc.hp.com.
