VERITAS File System (HP JFS/HP OnlineJFS)
The VERITAS File System (HP JFS/HP OnlineJFS) product is an extent-based,
intent-logging file system. This product is particularly designed for UNIX environments,
which require high performance and availability to deal with large volumes of data.
NOTE The terms “base VERITAS File System,” “HP JFS,” and “base VxFS” are used
interchangeably throughout. HP JFS is delivered on the Foundation Operating
Environment (FOE).
In addition, the terms “full VERITAS File System,” “HP OnlineJFS,” and “full VxFS” are
used interchangeably throughout. HP OnlineJFS is delivered on the Enterprise
Operating Environment (EOE) and the Mission Critical Operating Environment
(MCOE), and can also be purchased separately.
All of these terms may appear in other related VERITAS File System (HP
OnlineJFS/JFS) documentation.
Summary of Change
Starting with the September 2005 release, the licenses for full VxFS 3.3 (HP OnlineJFS
B3929CA) are permanent.
Impact
There are no impacts other than the permanent licenses.
