Support for new option RUN_WINBIND in /etc/rc.config.d/samba to enable
automatic start of the winbind daemon, winbindd.
Support for new -l and L options for the wbinfo utility to display user and
group file ownership without name-length limitations.
This release supports the “Bad Uid” option for the “map to guest” configuration
parameter to provide a mapping from valid domain users to a predefined guest
account even if HP-UX does not have a UNIX User ID for the domain user.
New options -n (nmbd only) and -s (smbd only) provided to the startsmb and
stopsmb utilities. These new options are used to start and stop the daemons
individually.
Changes have been made to support the disk quotas configuration parameter.
Impact
HP CIFS Server 3.0c (version A.02.01.02) is based on Samba 3.0.7 and provides minor
enhancements and defect fixes, as well as the new features provided in HP CIFS Server
3.0a (version A.02.01).
Compatibility
There is compatibility impact.
Performance
The implementation for the new version of HP CIFS Server A.02.01.01 does not degrade
performance.
