Instant Capacity on Demand (iCOD) and Pay Per Use (PPU)
The iCOD and PPU software products are a part of the HP On Demand Solutions
program. The iCOD product is a purchase model in which processor capacity can be
instantly increased to accommodate increasing demands. PPU is a lease model in which
customers are charged only for actual processor usage.
The following ODS products run on HP-UX 11i v1. All of them are available at
http://software.hp.com:
iCOD (product number B9073AA): You initially purchase a specified number of
activated processors and pay a right-to-access fee for a specified number of inactive
processors. After you activate an inactive processor, you pay an enablement fee.
PPU Percent Utilization (product number T1322AA): You pay only for the average
processor usage, based on a fixed/variable model.
PPU Actual Usage (product number T2351AA): As of March 2003, there is a new
Pay Per Use (PPU) product in which customer charges are based on a percentage of
processor utilization.
NOTE The PPU B.06.02 software product is available on the HP-UX 11i v1 Operating
Environments (OE) and Applications Software media.

The PPU version B.06.02 software is new for September 2003. There is no functional
change to the software from version B.06.00. There are only enhancements to improve
the software's operation.
