On HP-UX 11i, the ioscan output will now show the 5 by 5 part number of core (built-in)
I/O cards.
Fixed a defect in transmitting NFS READ of 32 Kbytes over a link with a maximum
transmission unit of 576 bytes. This affected the A4924A, A4929A and A4926A Gigabit
Ethernet cards on HP-UX 11.0.
updated for
September 2002
With the September 2002 release, the igelan driver has been updated to incorporate
defect fixes.
updated for June
2002
The June 2002 release of the igelan driver (available on software bundle GigEther-01)
supports PCI 1000Base-T (A6825A) and PCI 1000Base-SX (A6847A), and continues to
support 1000Base-T/SCSI (A6794A) on the HP server rp7410, for HP-UX 11i, 64-bit only.
updated for March
2002
With the March 2002 release, 1000Base-T/SCSI (A6794A) on the HP server rp7410 is
now supported. Customers should download the latest 11i release for the most recent
version of Gigabit Ethernet.
updated for
December 2001
The December 2001 release supports the 1000Base-T/SCSI card (A6794A) for HP-UX
11i, to pre-enable future systems (64-bit only). (The driver, igelan, is available on
software bundle GigEther-01.) The card is factory-installed, with a maximum of two
cards. The card supports only MC/ServiceGuard in this release. Online files are located
at /opt/networkdocs.
new at 11i
original release
The PCI 1000Base-T card allows HP servers to connect to IEEE 802.3ab standard
networks over Cat 5 or Cat 5E UTP copper cable. (The driver, gelan, is available on
software bundle GigEther-00.) The card supports HP Auto-Port Aggregation,
MC/ServiceGuard, and LAN Monitor. The card operates at 10, 100, or 1000 Mbit/s and
supports auto-negotiation and auto-sensing. There is no 1000Base-T card for HSC
backplanes.
The HSC and PCI 1000Base-SX/9000 products provide the means for interfacing various
types of HP computers to a 1000Base-SX multimode fiber network.
NOTE Check the latest HP-UX Ethernet and Combo Card System-Driver Matrix to see the
systems that support each card, how many cards per system and if any software updates
are needed. The system-driver matrix is available on the Web at
http://www.docs.hp.com under “Networking and Communications.”
For information on doing online addition and replacement of Gigabit Ethernet cards,
refer to “Managing PCI Cards with OLAR” in the Configuring HP-UX for Peripherals
manual.
