Ignite-UX (IUX)
Ignite-UX (IUX) is an HP-UX administration toolset to help you do the following:
• install HP-UX on multiple systems in your network
• create custom install configurations
• recover HP-UX systems remotely
• monitor system-installation status
The complete Ignite-UX product, with support for HP-UX 11i, 11.0 and 10.20, is
available on the first CD of the 11i OE media kit.

Ignite-UX has been updated to version B.4.2 to incorporate the following change:
• The Ignite-UX B.4.2 and later releases provide enhanced support for server response
to anonymous IPF clients with changes to the instl_bootd server. This
enhancement is available for both PA-RISC and IPF server architectures.

Ignite-UX has been updated to version B.4.1 to incorporate the following changes:
• Installs from either PA-RISC or an IPF servers - Ignite-UX now provides full support
of PA-RISC and IPF installs from either a PA-RISC or an IPF server.
• Assigning root passwords with shadow password files - Support is now provided for
assigning root passwords on clients with a shadow password file (/etc/shadow).
• Enhancement to itemap - For IPF clients, itemap is now invoked to set the keyboard
mapping.
• VxVM (VERITAS Volume Manager) is now supported for root and non-root -
Ignite-UX can now be used to install systems using VxVM. The expert recovery tool
has been enhanced to support systems with whole disk, LVM and VxVM disks.
VxVM can now be used to control the root/boot disk on PA-RISC systems.
• Enhancements to make_net_recovery and make_tape_recovery utilities - The
make_net_recovery and make_tape_recovery facilities are now supported on
VxVM root disks. It is no longer necessary for recovery client systems to be the same
version as the server. Clients running version B.3.8 or later can use an Ignite-UX
server that is running the same or later minor-revision of Ignite-UX.
