Hardware Enablement

The Hardware Enablement (HWE) Program provides regular updates of the

HWEnable11i Patch Bundle, the HP-UX OnlineDiag, and other HP-UX software to

support the hardware used with HP-UX systems. Each HP-UX 11i OE update includes

HWEnable11i, OnlineDiag (with Diagnostics and Support Tools), Ignite-UX and I/O

driver bundles that provide support for new and future systems, I/O adapters, and

mass-storage products. The HP-UX 11i OE software gets ignited on new systems in HP

manufacturing, and automatically loaded as part of any HP-UX 11i OE update. It is

included on the HP-UX 11i OE media and on the HP-UX 11i Support-Plus CD.

Summary of Change

HWE has been updated to pre-enable HP-UX support for new I/O adapters and servers.

Impact

HP updates this bundle with required patches for new hardware. This bundle is updated

for each release of the 11i v1 OE media. In addition to delivery on the HP-UX 11i v1 OE

media, HWEnable11i is also available on the HP IT Resource Center (ITRC) Web site at

http://itrc.hp.com
