Hardware Enablement Patch Bundle (HWEnable11i)
The HWE Patch Bundle (HWEnable11i) delivers support for new and future SPU, I/O,
and mass-storage products. This bundle is labeled as required, ignited on all systems in
manufacturing, and automatically loaded as part of any OE update. It is included on the
11i OE media and on the Support Plus CD.
Some of the bundle’s patches include the following:

• Verified HP-UX support for the following workstations with 875MHz PA8700+
processors (no HP-UX software changes were required for these models in December
2002):
— A9636A Visualize C3750 workstation
— A9638A Visualize J6750 workstation
• Verified HP-UX support for the following newly updated optical units (although
updated, some of these products retain previous product numbers):
• Added new 11.00 (IETHER) and 11.11 (IETHER-00) networking drivers for A6974A
PCI Next Generation 10/100Base-TX Single Port card.

• Added required 11.00 and 11.11 LVM patches for the following products

1. These new networking drivers were delivered on the respective 11.00
Install/Update media, 11i OE media, and Application Release media.
2. The September HWE bundles lack the necessary LVM patches needed to avoid
potential data corruption when using the Business Copy feature with the VA7110
and VA7410 arrays. The HWE bundles for December 2002 include these required
LVM patches.
