Major Changes, New Features and Requirements of Instant Capacity B.07.x
License Requirement
Chapter 2 23
License Requirement
A system managed under the Instant Capacity program may include one
or more components that are “unlicensed” (processor, cell, or memory).
Before you can use these components, they must be licensed from HP.
Instant Capacity versions B.07.x manage the licensing of Instant
Capacity components through the use of license codewords. After an
unlicensed Instant Capacity component is purchased from HP, a
right-to-use (RTU) codeword is available for retrieval from the HP Utility
Pricing Solutions web portal, located at:
http://www.hp.com/go/icod/portal
NOTE Contact your HP sales representative in order to purchase an Instant
Capacity component. After you have purchased the component, HP sends
you a letter informing you how to retrieve the RTU codeword.
After the RTU codeword is retrieved from the Utility Pricing Solutions
web portal, the RTU codeword is applied by the use of the icod_modify
command, with the -C option. An Instant Capacity component becomes a
licensed component after the RTU codeword is applied.
