HPDPS Miminum Configuration
Requirements
To support up to 1500 printers, the HPDPS minimum configuration
requirements are:
Hardware
✓ K570 (2 CPU’s, 240 MHz)
✓ Physical memory = 1.50GB
✓ Swap space = 1.65GB
✓ Total memory = 3.15GB
✓ Disk space for /var/opt = 512MB
NOTE The above configuration was the minimum required for a test scenario
which sent 100 simultaneous print requests to a single printer.
In order to successfully process 100 simultaneous jobs sent to 100
different printers across a total of 30 spoolers and 30 supervisors, the
swap space had to be increased to 2GB from 1.65GB. The jobs each
involved printing a document greater than 2MB in size.

✓ 10.20 patch PHCO_15902 or later
✓ 11.00 patch PHCO_16560 or later
Kernel Configuration
1. The kernel configuration applied the tuned parameter set for
“General OLTP/Database Server System” in SAM.
2. maxssiz and maxdsiz were increased to 16MB and 134MB
respectively.
