Understanding the notification-profile
Attribute
You use the notification-profile attribute to configure notification
profiles of specific HPDPS objects for specific HPDPS events pertaining
to the object. You can create or modify a notification profile by using the
pdcreate, pdmod, pdpr, or pdset commands depending on the object.
You can create notification profiles for any of the following objects:
• logical printer
• physical printer
• queue
• spooler
• supervisor
• job
• initial-value-job
All of the above objects, except the inital-value-job object, have default
notification profiles.
A notification profile has multiple components, such that:
• Each notification value has up to five components:
— event-identifiers
— delivery-method
— delivery-address
— event-comment
— locale
• When expressing a value for the complex notification-profile
attribute, you must begin and end with the brace characters ({ }). For
example:
notification-profile=

delivery-address=mary@hostname
event-comment='fix problem' locale=C}
