Graphics Administration Guide (April 2009)

The X server must be configured for IRC operation to recognize the virtual devices. Use the SAM
or SMH utility to perform the configuration (See the using SAM/SMH to configure the X Server
section). SAM / SMH will allow you to enable or disable either the local or the virtual input
devices. It will also configure the X server for a 1024x768 pixel resolution, the maximum allowed
by the IRC hardware.
The IRC virtual mouse only supports two buttons, left and right. The middle button on a three
button mouse is not functional under vKVM. The middle button is by convention used for a
Paste operation in X Windows. Many applications implement Cut and Paste as menu operations
as well. Please look for Cut and Paste menu items in your applications to do cut and paste.

miscellaneous
fonts
The X Server can obtain fonts from directories or font servers. Setting up a font server or making
a directory a font directory is beyond the scope of this document. The font path can be loaded
via the –fp option from the command line or from the XF86Config file. The latter is the preferred
method. The default font path is: /usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc. See section “XF86Config File: Files
section” regarding the FontPath. The following font directories are delivered with the system
and may be added to the font path. Applications may install their own fonts. The application
font path can be added to the FontPath as necessary.

/usr/lib/X11/fonts/hp_kana8/
