EnhancedMMAP What is EnhancedMMAP 1 EnhancedMMAP What is EnhancedMMAP EnhancedMMAP contains Virtual Memory support features for the enhanced mmap system call (see the mmap (2) manpage for details). Applications which perform mmap in a pattern so as to map, unmap and remap the same range of address space will experience performance benefits if this product is installed. EnhancedMMAP Installing EnhancedMMAP Installing EnhancedMMAP Installing from the CD-ROM Step 1. Log in as root. Step 2. Mount the CD drive to the desired directory. The following example uses the /cdrom directory (you can find the CD drive device file by using the ioscan -fnC disk command): # mount -r /dev/dsk/clt2d0/cdrom Step 3. Back up your system before installing the product. Step 4. Use SD to install the EnhancedMMAP bundle from the CD. Only the EnhancedMMAP bundle should be specified with swinstall.
EnhancedMMAP Removing EnhancedMMAP Removing EnhancedMMAP To remove EnhancedMMAP, complete the following procedure: Step 1. Login as root. Step 2. Run swremove to remove the product: # swremove -x autoreboot=true Mmap-Perf NOTE Chapter 1 Mmap-Perf contains a kernel product. Thus, swremoving the product will cause a system reboot after removal is complete. This removes the core functionality of the feature, but leaves the bundle wrapper and patches on your system.
