Conﬁgurations

Any time you modify your graphics conﬁguration, be sure to update the

conﬁguration ﬁles used by your application programs.

For example, if you are adding a CRX24 (or CRX48) and using it as a

console, you must

Step 1. Note the hardware path in which you insert the card.

Step 2. Identify the device special ﬁle for the CRX24. By default, the minor

number of the console device special ﬁle is 0x000000.

Step 3. Make sure the ﬁles in the /etc/X11 directory refer to the correct device

special ﬁle for the console.

Step 4. Change the console path in BOOT_ADMIN to match the hardware path into

which you insert the card. For example,

BOOT_ADMIN> path console graphics2

You can display the correlation between the PDC names and hardware

paths by using the info query at the BOOT_ADMIN prompt.
