Every time a chroot user in a trusted environment enters a wrong
password, the failed login counter increments. However, the counter

Defect ID Description
JAGaf98891 If a user enters the correct password on the
first available password prompt, HP-UX
Secure Shell logs in the user without
displaying any error messages. However, if an
incorrect password is entered, the connection
is dropped without prompting the user to
enter the correct password. In some cases,
after the user enters the correct password, the
connection exits with the following error:
mm_request_send:write: Broken pipe
JAGag01093 When the useprivilegeseparation
configuration directive is set to YES, the sshd
daemon scans the /var/adm/wtmp file twice
during login. This impacts performance and
sometimes results in the connection timing
out.
JAGag03723 When HP-UX Secure Shell is installed but not
configured on the system, on system
shutdown, the following message is displayed:
Stopping HP-UX Secure Shell
