HP-UX Role-Based Access Control B.11.31.05.01 Release Notes

IMPORTANT: Installing HP-UX RBAC B.11.31.05.01 with the PHCO_38583 RBAC cumulative
patch overwrites the existing HP-UX RBAC database files only if the database files have not been
modified.
1. Review “Compatibility information and installation requirements”.
2. Download HP-UX RBAC as described in “Acquiring HP-UX RBAC”.
3. Log in to your system as the root user.
4. To install HP-UX RBAC:
# swinstall -s /tmp/RBAC-depotname.depot AccessControl
Where RBAC-depotname is the name of the HP-UX RBAC depot. The actual location can
vary.
HP-UX RBAC installs files under the following directories:
/opt/hpsmh/data/help/rbac/en
/opt/hpsmh/data/help/rbac/img
/opt/hpsmh/data/htdocs/rbac
/opt/hpsmh/webapp
/usr/bin
/usr/lib
/usr/lib/hpux32

The swinstall tool displays an error message if the installation fails. If the installation fails,
check /var/opt/adm/sw/swagent.log for information.
5. Verify the installation with the swverify AccessControl command. If HP-UX RBAC is
installed correctly on the system, the swverify command output includes the following text:
* Verification succeeded
Removing HP-UX RBAC
To remove (un-install) HP-UX RBAC B.11.31.05.01 from your HP-UX 11i v3 systems, you must
