Reporting Problems to HP
Chapter 6 111
Reporting Problems to HP
When reporting problems to HP, include the following information:
• A complete description of the problem and any error messages. Include information about:
— the local system (IP addresses)
— IP addresses of relevant remote systems
— log files such as /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
— routing table information (netstat -rn output) if appropriate
Include a description of what works, as well as what does not work.
• If the problem is reproducible, set HP-UX IPQoS log level to DEBUG. Save and include a file
containing DEBUG, ERROR, and WARNING messages. By default, messages go to
/var/adm/syslog/syslog.log. You can look for messages logged by the HP-UX IPQoS
API library under the name libipqos.
• Relevant HP-UX IPQoS configuration files.
• HP-UX IPQoS database file:
/opt/ipqos/db/ipqosdb.db
• A display of the active configuration. Use the following command:
#ipqosadmin -showconfig
• A display of all the available statistics of the active configuration. Use the following
command:
#ipqosadmin -showstats
• Indicate whether the problem continues even if you are in the ENABLED but NOT
FILTERING state of HP-UX IPQoS.
