Sample Error and Warning Messages
This section describes a few of the possible error, warning, and informational messages you
can receive and the corrective action you can take to resolve the problem.
The following table describes a sample of the error messages you can encounter when trying
to verify or load a configuration file.
The following table provides a sample of the warning and informational messages you can
encounter when trying to verify or load a configuration file.

ERROR: '%s' is not of the proper IP
address family.
Edit the configuration file. Ensure
addresses are specified in the same address
family. Host names must translate to the
same address family as well.
ERROR: Filter '%s' low source
address > high source address.
ERROR: Filter '%s' low destination
address > high destination address.
Edit the configuration file. Ensure
low-range addresses (srcaddrlo,
dstaddrlo) are lower than high-range
address (srcaddrhi, dstaddrhi).
ERROR: Filter '%s' low source port
(%d)> high source port (%d).
ERROR: Filter '%s' low destination
port (%d) > high destination port
(%d).
Edit the configuration file. Ensure
low-range ports (srcportlo, dstportlo)
are lower than high-range port (srcporthi,
dstporthi).
ERROR: The total reservation
requested by installing policy '%s'
on adapter '%s' exceeds the
adapter’s link speed!
Edit the configuration file. Reduce total
sum of specified res values to <100%. [This
error message is displayed when loading
(-load), not when verifying (-verify).]
