1. Insert a USB flash memory device and copy the saved system diagnostics, Diagnostic.tgz, to
the home directory.
2. Open a terminal and browse to the home directory.
3. Type tar xvfz Diagnostic.tgz in the command line.
You have now successfully opened your System Diagnostic!
What to look for in System Diagnostics

The commands folder contains files such as:

dmidecode.txt with information on the BIOS and graphics
◦
dpkg_--list.txt with a list of the current packages installed at the time System
Diagnostics was run
◦
ps_-ef.txt with a list of the current processes at the time at the time System Diagnostics
was run
●
The files/var/log folder contains useful log files such as:
◦
Xorg.0.log, which contains information on graphics, mouse, and keyboard
◦
kern.log, which contains information on the kernel
●
The files/etc folder contains the current file system at time System Diagnostics was run.
