Accessing HP VCRM from HP SIM
Procedure 315 Accessing HP VCRM from Systems Insight Manager
1. Select Tools→System Information→System Management Homepage.
2. Select the target system, and then click Run Now. The System Management Homepage appears.
3. From SMH, Click the HP Version Control Repository Manager link. The HP VCRM Home page
appears.
Accessing HP VCRM In-Place
On the system that has the HP VCRM installed, navigate to
https://hostname:2381/vcrepository. The HP VCRM Home page appears.
NOTE: You can also access HP VCRM from the SMH.
Version control repository
The Version Control Repository must be downloaded and at least one VCA must be configured to
access the VCRM server. HP VCA must have appropriate rights to the VCRM server, but it cannot
use the administrator account.
Systems Insight Manager enables you to specify an HP Version Control Repository Manager. The
HP VCRM stores the latest ProLiant Support Packs providing the latest software.
Updating the repository:
There are several ways to update the repository:
• From the HP SmartSetup CD
• From the HP VCRM:
Give users authorization to access the HP VCRM through HP SMH by selecting The Settings
Page→Security→Update Groups.

2. Point the HP VCA to the HP VCRM by selecting Change Agent Settings from the HP VCA
Home page.

3. From the HP VCRM Home page, select Configure the Repository and Automatic Update
Settings.

4. From the HP VCRM Catalog page, select Update from hp.com Now.
