Option specifies verbose output, which provides extra visual task progression output to the console.
Description
The mxreconfig m dbauth a db-user-name command enables you to change the
credentials Systems Insight Manager uses to access the CMS database. In other words, if the user
name used to logon to the database associated with Systems Insight Manager must be changed,
use this command to change the user name that Systems Insight Manager uses to access the
database. When this command is run, you are prompted for the new password for specified
database user name.
IMPORTANT: This command is applicable to Systems Insight Manager only. If you have used
the mxreconfig m password, and the database associated with Systems Insight Manager is
locally installed, you do not need to run the dbauth command; the access credentials will have
been already updated. Use the dbauth command when you have not run the password command
and then only when the associated database is remote.
The dbauth command does the following:
Stops all installed Systems Insight Manager partner services.
Changes the database user name and password HP SIM uses to access the associated
database.
Restarts all installed Systems Insight Manager partner services.
Running the Command
To change the Systems Insight Manager database credentials:
1. Open a command prompt on the CMS and navigate to the install directory of Systems Insight
Manager.
2. Type the following and then press Enter.
$ mxreconfig -m dbauth -a db-user-name
3. Type the new password when prompted and then press Enter.
Warnings
Verify that all Systems Insight Manager operations are complete before running this command.
This command is applicable to Systems Insight Manager only.
Dependencies
All of the following must be true:
Systems Insight Manager is installed and configured on a Windows operating system host,
using Microsoft SQL.
All credentials are known.
The database credentials provided by the user during this command are valid for the CMS
database.
Reconfigure SQL Redirect Command

Reconfigure the CMS to use a different database.
