HP-UX SMH: Peripheral Devices Manager – The Reinstall Device

Files action does not work

ISSUE

The Peripheral Devices Manager (PeripheralDeviceWeb) uses the insf -e -H<hwpath> command

to reinstall device files. This command currently fails on HP-UX 11i v3.

NOTE:

This problem exists only on all version of HP-UX 11i v3.

SOLUTION

To reinstall all the device files use the command-line interface and run the insf -e command. Look

for a future release of HP-UX Peripheral Devices Manager (PeripheralDeviceWeb version later than

B.11.31.07) on the HP Software Depot website at http://software.hp.com.
