This may be an indication of a login file that is
incompatible with the cluster environment. A number of
environment variables are automatically set and can be
overridden by login values. Review, edit, and simplify
your login file as needed.
This may also be a problem with NFS mounting.
Login to the GUI of the cluster either locally or remotely,
for example, for an RGS session, terminates prematurely
(ten seconds or so). Other users can login without this
problem.
This usually means that something has gone wrong during
the boot process and the system dropped into single user
mode.
To diagnose the problem, pay attention to the boot
message as they appear. You will need a monitor
connected to the node or a KVM to see the messages.
Once the system hangs, (that is, drops to single user
mode), you can issue commands and access the system
via your console.
Always look at /var/log/nconfig.log. This file
contains information which usually leads to the source
of the error.
