HP SVA V2.1 System Administration Guide

2.4.1 Install SVA Kits
By the end of a full SVA Kit installation (or a patch kit installation), SVA generates the following:
An SVA Site Configuration File, with appropriate default settings for mono and stereo
displays.
After installation, you may need to modify the Site Configuration File to provide additional
supported resolutions and refresh rates for atypical mono displays and stereo displays.
A set of SVA X Configuration Files in /etc/X11 with appropriate default settings for a
typical set of desktop displays, for example, desktop monitors and flat panels.
After installation, you may need to customize the Monitor Properties Files for atypical mono
displays and many stereo displays and regenerate the SVA X Configuration Files.
A set of named Display Surfaces mapping 1:1 to each display node in the cluster.
After installation, you likely will need to create additional Display Surfaces for example, for
multi-panel or stereo displays.
2.4.2 Set Supported Resolutions in the Site Configuration File
The Site Configuration File contains two tags that specify the supported resolutions available
for display devices used with the cluster. These two tags have a list of default resolutions as
shown in Table 2-3.

The graphics card will try
VESA Standard refresh
rates, if the display device
does not support 110 Hz at
the specified resolution.
The VESA Standard
refresh rates are unlikely
to work properly given
that stereo displays need
higher refresh rates. In this
case, you need to add the
appropriate modelines and
possibly modify the
vertical refresh rate in the
stereo Monitor Properties
files. See Section 2.4.3 for
details.
