For xw9300 systems, the minimum supported BIOS level is 2.05 or higher. Use of older
versions of the BIOS results in network problems that prevent the cluster from working
properly.
• Solution
Use the recommended BIOS versions.
If you need to upgrade for some reason (for example, HP Field Service recommendation),
you can find the latest BIOS versions on the HP web site.
2. NVIDIA Drivers: Do Not Upgrade These Drivers
• Impact

• Summary
The version of the NVIDIA drivers on the cluster are the only supported versions.
• Solution
Do not upgrade the NVIDIA drivers to higher versions.
3. Configuration Data Files: Incorrect Syntax Leads to an Unstable System
• Impact
Medium.
• Summary
The Configuration Data Files (the Site Configuration File and the User Configuration
File) must use the correct syntax as documented in the SVA System Administration Guide
or the cluster may become unstable.
• Solution
Any changes to the Configuration Data Files must conform to the documented syntax.
The SVA System Administration Guide also documents the svaverify utility, which
you can run to verify the syntax of the Configuration Data Files.
It is also useful to keep a backup copy when making changes.
4. Displays: Display Surface Names Cannot Have Spaces
• Impact
Low.
• Summary
The Display Surface Configuration Tool can only create Display Surfaces without spaces
in the name.
• Solution
Use names without spaces, for example, MY_DISPLAY rather than MY DISPLAY.
5. Displays: sva_chromium_dmx.sh Script Fails to Start All Tiles in a Multi-Tile Display with Correct
Resolutions in Non-Interactive Mode
• Impact
Medium.
• Summary
Depending on the display hardware on your cluster, use of the sva_chromium_dmx.sh
script in non-interactive mode may not start all the tiles in a multi-tile display with the
correct resolutions. Normally, all tiles should share the same resolution as determined
by the Display Surface default resolution. This problem is more likely to appear in
displays that use analog video connections.
