HP SVA V1.1 Patch Kit 3 Readme/Release Notes
For workstation head nodes: The system switches back to the head node X Server
automatically. You should then switch back to the alternate console, and log out. Switch
back to the head node's X Server using Ctrl+Alt+F7 and log in as root again.
•
• For server head nodes: Log out of the alternate console. Switch back to the head node's
X Server using Ctrl+Alt+F7.
7. Run cluster_config and re-image the cluster. Refer to the HP SVA Installation Guide for
details on these steps. How you do this depends on when you are installing the patch kit:
• If you installed the patch kit as part of a full XC/SVA installation from scratch any time
before running cluster_config, continue with the XC/SVA installation according
to the HP SVA Installation Guide.
• If you installed the patch kit on a previously installed XC/SVA cluster, run
cluster_config with the following changes compared to the first time you ran
cluster_config:
a. You don't need to modify any nodes or change any services. This is unchanged
from the base installation.
b. Use the default answers to all the cluster_config questions.
c. After the cluster_config steps, use setnetboot to force the nodes to boot
with the new golden image. For example, to boot a cluster with five nodes:
# setnetboot --node n[1-5]
Substitute the appropriate node names and numbers for your system.
d. Turn off all workstations.
e. Re-image the nodes using the following command:
# startsys --force --image_and_boot n[1-5]
Substitute the appropriate node names and numbers for your system.
Turn the workstations on and off as requested by the startsys procedure.
8. Run the XC and SVA OVPs. Refer to the HP XC Installation Guide and the HP SVA Installation
Guide for details on these steps.
