1 Getting Started
This document provides information about the Patch Kit 3 release for HP SVA V1.1.
1.1 Overview of HP SVA
The HP SVA development team is pleased to offer this updated version of its SVA product. This
new visualization solution combines a cluster of industry standard PCs running HP XC and
HP-developed software APIs and utilities (SVA Visualization System Software). Together, these
hardware and software components bring the power of parallel computing to the task of image
visualization for large data sets.
1.2 First Steps for Patch Kit Upgrades

1.3 Cumulative Changes in Patch Kits
This section provides a cumulative description of new or changed features available in each of
the released patch kits for HP SVA V1.1.
IMPORTANT: The most recent patch kit contains the changes for all the previous patch kits.
1.3.1 New Features in Patch Kit 3
The following new or changed features are available from the SVA V1.1 Patch Kit 3:
• G-Sync cards for framelock work with two graphics cards per node. Previously, support
existed for G-Sync cards to work only with one graphics card per node.
• The new G-Sync support requires a new NVIDIA graphics card driver (V8762), which is
installed with this patch kit. (The old version was V8174.) It also contains changes to the
framelock scripts added in Patch Kit 2, and changes to the SVA X Config files. These changes
take place during the installation of Patch Kit 3.
Once installed, the new functionality from Patch Kit 3 is available transparently to the user. That
is, support for G-Sync with two graphics cards operates without any additional work by the
user.
1.3.2 New Features in Patch Kit 2
The following new or changed features are available from the SVA V1.1 Patch Kit 2:
• Integrated SVA support for configuring and using stereo display devices.
• Ability to define a default tile resolution for a specific Display Surface.
• Integrated SVA support for G-Sync framelock for multi-tile displays.
