Job Settings Configuration Section and Tag Entries
Table 1-6 and Table 1-7 define sections and their associated tags in the Job Settings File.
Table 1-6 Job Configuration File: Tag Definitions for the SVA_JOB Section
DefinitionTags within Section
SVA_JOB
Declares site default settings for all jobs.
The number of display nodes assigned to a job.SVA_DISPLAY_COUNT
The number of render nodes assigned to a job.SVA_RENDER_COUNT
1
The number of compute nodes assigned to a job.SVA_COMPUTE_COUNT
1
The list of render hosts assigned to a job.SVA_RENDER_HOSTS
The list of display hosts assigned to a job.SVA_DISPLAY_HOSTS
The list of compute hosts assigned to a job.SVA_COMPUTE_HOSTS
Turns the X cursor on or off on display nodes.
A value of 0 sets cursor to appear on nodes. A value of 1 sets the
cursor not to appear on nodes.
SVA_UNCLUTTER
1
,
2
Sets the Display Surface used for the job. The default is to use the
first Display Surface, SVA_DS_1_1.
SVA_DISPLAY_SURFACE
1
1 This tag can also be defined in the User Configuration File.
2 This tag is also defined in the Site Configuration File.

The role assigned to this host for the job.SVA_ROLE
1
[host_name]
Defines roles and ranks for the list of
named hosts. Defines number and
orientation of tiles when more than one tile
is attached to a display node.
Number of display devices attached to the
display node. A value of 1 indicates one
display device. A value of 2 indicates two
display devices.
SVA_NUM_TILES
1
Indicates that the tiles attached to a single
display node are arranged horizontally
(value equals .horizontal), vertically
(value equals .vertical) or in an
n x n
arrangement of four tiles only (value equals
.square). Set this value to empty if there
is only one tile for the display node.
SVA_TILE_ORIENTATION
1
A unique number within the role of the host
as it applies to the job. The numbers are
generated starting from 1 when resources
are allocated to the job.
SVA_RANK
1 Also defined in the Site Configuration File.
Changing Data Files
The owner of the data, site manager, and user can add their own sections, tags and values to a data file
to suit their own system environments. However, there are restrictions on changes to the Site Configuration
File as described in the following section.
Site Configuration File
The Site Configuration File is created by HP when setting up the cluster initially. A post-installation discovery
process, the svaconfigure utility, identifies all the nodes in the cluster, characterizes them by role, and
defines all Display Surfaces by assuming each display node maps to a single Display Surface. This creates
a set of Display Surfaces, each with a single tile, defined by a display node and the display device physically
connected it.
