HP Scalable Visualization Array, V1.1 Readme/Release Notes

You can also view the full set of online documentation directly from the SVA CD using a Windows or Linux
system. The main navigation page for the Documentation Library is located on the CD at the following
location:
sva/index.htm
Because all the documentation is contained in a tree of Web-compatible files, you can also copy the tree to
any web server root directory (Windows, UNIX, or Linux) and it can then be viewed via its URL by anyone
with access to that web server.
The Documentation Library is a set of files bundled into a single compressed tarball file for convenience.
You can install the tarball manually at any time on an existing Linux or Windows machine, for example,
before you've set up all the cluster hardware and completed the installation of the cluster software.
1. Mount the SVA CD in the CD drive on an existing Windows machine or Linux machine (not part of the
SVA).
2. Locate the sva_docs.tar.gz, which contains the Documentation Library files in the root level of
the CD.
3. Follow the instructions for the type of target system:
Linux machine:
/var/www/html is where Apache stores HTML files on Red Hat systems. A reasonable location
for installing the files is /var/www/html/sva. If you install the Documentation Library files on
a system which has Apache running, you can access the documentation from that system at the
URL https://localhost/sva. Use the tar utility to extract and install the set of files.
Windows machine:
You can use WinZip to extract the entire tree to a local file system on disk or a web server root
directory for viewing via a URL address.
4. In either case, you need to open index.htm to view the available documentation, including the
SVA
Software Installation Guide
.
Release Notes
1.
Configuration Data Files: Incorrect Syntax Leads to an Unstable System
Impact
Medium.
Summary
The Configuration Data Files (the Site Configuration File and the User Configuration File) must use
the correct syntax as documented in the
SVA System Administration Guide
or the cluster may
become unstable.
Solution
Any changes to the Configuration Data Files must conform to the documented syntax. The
SVA
System Administration Guide
also documents the svaverify utility, which you can run to verify
the syntax of the Configuration Data Files.
It is also useful to keep a backup copy when making changes.
2.
NVIDIA Driver/BIOS: Do Not Upgrade These Drivers
Impact
High
Summary
The version of the NVIDIA drivers on the cluster and the installed xw8200 BIOS or higher are the
only supported versions.
Solution
Do not upgrade the NVIDIA drivers or the BIOS to higher versions.
