HP Scalable Visualization Array New Features and Release Notes Version 2.1.2
14. DMX: 4K x 4k Total Display Device Restriction
• Impact
Low.
• Summary
When used alone, DMX only supports multitile display devices that total 4Kx4K pixels.
• Solution
Use the Chromium-DMX script interactively as documented in the User's Guide.
15. RGS: Incomplete RGS Installation Inhibits RGS GUI During sva_remote.sh Sessions
• Impact
Medium.
• Summary
If all RGS Sender installation steps are not completed as described in the HP RGS User's
Guide, the RGS Sender GUI will not be present during SVA jobs started using the SVA
job launch script, sva_remote.sh. This impairs access to the remote session, making
collaboration among several remote clients difficult.
• Solution
Be sure to complete all of the steps outlined in the HP RGS User's Guide in the Linux
RGS Sender and Sender GUI Installation section. Of particular note is properly
configuring the RGS Pluggable Authentication Module (PAM) module as described:
The Linux Sender uses the Pluggable Authentication Module (PAM) for authentication.
Add the following PAM configuration information to the files /etc/pam.d/gdm,
/etc/pam.d/kde, and /etc/pam.d/xdm:
session optional pam_rg.so
16. Compositing Library: Running your application produces the message: Error: Posting rdma recv -
host: [int] Max. WR number exceeds capabilities
• Impact
Medium
• Summary
Your application creates too many framelets. The Library has high but fixed limits on
the number of outstanding messages it supports on the InfiniBand network. The
application has exceeded this limit (roughly 1,000 outstanding messages per program).
[int] is the hostIndex of the host whose message queue is exhausted.
• Solution
If the total number of framelets in your application (across all hosts) is over 200, reduce
the number of framelets. If this is not the case, then determine if one or more of the
hosts is not progressing at a reasonable rate. It is possible that a host has not serviced
the messages it has received in a timely way. It may be spending too much time doing
other processing.
