Compatibility and Installation Requirements
This section describes the compatibility information and installation requirements for this release.
For specific installation instructions, refer to Section and the HP XC System Software Installation
Guide.
Required Patches
Installation of this release does not require any previous patches.
You can download the latest HP SVA release from the following web address:
http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do
You will be asked for your login and password.
Choose the Patch Database option in the left navigation pane. You then have several search
options available, including searching listed patches for Linux (applicable for SVA) or you can
enter SVA into the Search box on most pages.
Required Software and Operating System Compatibility
This release requires that you already have the following software installed on your HP SVA
system:
HP XC Version 3.2 or Version 3.2.1
HP SVA Version 2.1 or Version 2.1.1
To find out what HP SVA Software is currently installed, run the following command:
% cat /etc/sva-release
SVA V2.1 produces the following output:
HP SVA V2.1-0 200703020816
The SVA V2.1.2 release produces output like the following:
HP SVA V2.1.2 200807132111
Note that you can ignore the numerical date identifier (2008...), which varies with each build.
Hardware Requirements
This version of HP SVA runs on HP Cluster Platform 3000 or 4000 installed with Version 3.2 or
3.2.1 of the HP XC System Software.
IMPORTANT: If the XC/SVA cluster is configured with HP xw8600 workstations or HP ProLiant
DL160 G5 servers, HP XC System Software Version 3.2.1 must be installed on the system in order
for the SVA 2.1.2 release to be installed.
