Getting Started

Installing the Library into a Rack

The instructions in this section apply to library 20-slot, 40-slot, and

60-slot models mounted in a standard 19-inch rack with a depth between

24 and 34 inches.

CAUTION Make sure that the rack and all equipment mounted in the rack have a

reliable ground connection.

Verify that the total current of the rack components does not exceed the

current rating of the power distribution unit or outlet receptacles.

WARNING Do not move the library without additional help and/or an

appropriately rated lift device. The 20-slot weighs 40.9 kilograms

(90 pounds). The 40-slot weighs 76.4 kilograms (165 pounds). The

60-slot weighs 104.1 kilograms (229 pounds).

Tools and Parts

Before you begin, ensure that you have the following:

• Phillips #2 screwdriver

• Torx screwdriver with T20 bit

• 1/2-inch open-end wrench
