Note To name the devices in a group with sequential names based on the group name,
right-click the device group and choose Name Devices As. For
recommendations on device group, device, and volume naming, see page 151.
3. Move devices into the group as described below.
Moving Devices Between Groups
• In the Storage pane, select one or more devices and drag them onto the destination
device group’s icon.
• To move all of the devices in one group into another group, drag the current device
group’s icon onto the target device group’s icon.
• To move a set of devices that are assigned to a host or share group into a device group,
drag a host or share group with assigned devices onto the target device group’s icon.
Deleting a Device Group
Do one of the following:
• Right-click the device group icon and choose Remove Device Group in the shortcut
menu.
• Select the device group and press the Delete key.
SAN Manager LM removes the device group and moves all of its devices into the default
device group.
Note When you remove a device group, current storage assignments are preserved.
