HP SureStore E SAN Manager LUN Management Administrator's Guide

94 SAN Administration Groups
SAN Administration Groups
The SAN Manager LM administration application provides a single system image of the
SAN from any host on the network that has the administration application installed. This
feature allows members of SAN administration groups to manage all hosts and storage
from a single computer.
SAN administration groups are assigned during the initial SAN Manager LM configuration
procedure and can be modified at any time after configuration.
Note HP recommends adding at least one local group from an administration host to
the SAN Administration groups list. If there is a domain failure, or if the domain
is replaced, having local groups as SAN administration groups will allow
uninterrupted access to the SAN Manager LM administration application. On a
SAN without local administration groups, when a domain fails you must go
through a lengthy procedure before you can access SAN Manager LM (see
pages 172 through 174).
