HP SureStore E SAN Manager LUN Management Administrator's Guide
46 Choosing Administration Groups
1. To add SAN administration groups, do one of the following:
– Double-click a group in the Windows NT Groups pane to add it to the SAN
Administration Groups pane.
– Select a group in the Windows NT Groups pane and click the left arrow to add it to
the SAN Administration Groups pane.
– To add a group that is not listed in the Windows NT Groups pane, type the group
name in the Enter other groups text box and press Enter or click the arrow next to
the text box. Some examples of groups that are added this way include groups from
other workstations and domains, and groups from the local workstation that are not
listed in the Administration Groups dialog box.
Note When adding a group through the Enter other groups text box, you must enter
the group name in one of the following formats: group, machine\group, or
domain\group. If a group that you are trying to add does not have the
appropriate trust relationship with the domain or the SAN Manager LM
administration host, you may be unable to add the group to the SAN
administration groups list.
HP recommends adding at least one local group from an administration host to
the SAN Administration groups list. If there is a domain failure, or if the domain
is replaced, having local groups as SAN administration groups will allow
uninterrupted access to the SAN Manager LM administration application. On a
SAN without local administration groups, when a domain fails you must go
through a lengthy procedure before you can access SAN Manager LM (see
pages 172 through 174).
2. To remove a SAN administration group, do one of the following:
– Double-click a group in the SAN Administration Groups pane.
– Select a group in the SAN Administration Groups pane and click the right arrow.
3. Click OK to close the Administration Groups dialog box.
