42 Creating the SAN Database
1. Verify that the correct devices are listed in the Database Partitions pane. If the correct
devices are listed, skip to step 2. If the correct devices are not listed, click the Back
button and edit the database partitions list as described below:
– To add a device, create a database partition as described on page 39.
– To remove a device, select it and click the Remove Database Partition button.
– Once you’ve created three database partitions, the database wizard automatically
skips to step 2 of the of the database creation procedure. If you have fewer than
three partitions, click the Next button when the correct devices are listed in the
Database Partitions pane.
2. Click the Create Database Mirror Set button.
Note If you only partitioned one device for database use, you still need to create a
database mirror set. Although disk mirroring does not take place when only one
disk is available, this allows you to create a functioning mirror set later by
simply adding devices. For instructions on adding devices to an existing mirror
set, see page 125.
