Locking and Unlocking Devices
SAN Manager LM’s shortcut menus allow you to lock and unlock devices. By default, all
SAN Manager LM devices are unlocked. When a device is locked, you cannot partition the
device, change its assignment status, or move it into another device group.
Locking Devices
• To lock all devices that are assigned to a host, right-click the host and choose Lock
Devices.
• To lock all of the devices in a device group, right-click the device group and choose
Lock Devices.
• To lock all of the devices in a share group, right-click the share group and choose Lock
Devices.
• To lock one or more selected devices, right-click a selected device and choose Lock
Devices.
Unlocking Devices
• To unlock all devices that are assigned to a host, right-click the host and choose Unlock
Devices.
• To unlock all of the devices in a device group, right-click the device group and choose
Unlock Devices.
• To unlock all of the devices in a share group, right-click the share group and choose
Unlock Devices.
• To unlock one or more selected devices, right-click a selected device and choose
Unlock Devices.
