Reassigning Devices
SAN Manager LM’s drag-and-drop capability lets you unassign devices from their current
hosts and share groups and reassign them to other hosts or share groups.
Reassignment Methods
• To unassign one or more selected devices from one host or share group and assign them
to another host or share group, drag the device(s) from the current host or share group
onto the destination host or share group icon.
• To unassign all of the devices from one host and reassign them to another host, drag the
icon of the host with the assigned devices onto the destination host icon.
• To unassign all of the devices from a share group and reassign them to a host, drag the
icon of the share group onto the destination host icon.
• To unassign all of the devices from one share group and reassign them to another share
group, drag the icon of the share group with the assigned devices onto the destination
share group icon.
Note In addition to reassigning storage devices, when you drag a share group’s icon
onto another share group, all hosts in the share group remain in the original
share group and are added to the target share group.
